This Pinstripe print is inspired by the pinstriped suits originally worn as bank uniforms in England in the late 19th century. At that time, each bank used a slightly different stripe to identify its employees. The suits became popular in American mainstream culture in the 1920’s and 1930’s when they were adopted by gangsters, jazz musicians and speakeasies during the Prohibition era.
